The easiest way to explain what I do is for you to think of me as your decor bestie! I help with all of your home styling needs. I’ll even go shopping with you to find the perfect throw pillows or plants to freshen up your space.

Hi, my name is Melissa Nichols. I am a designer and curator of all things pretty. Polka dots, birds and coffee are just a few of my favorite things. My dream came true when my husband and I bought our first home in beautiful Oregon where I spend my days decorating and re-arranging daily.

Home décor is something I have always had a knack for and have enjoyed doing. When I get a new table, I look forward to going to the store and picking out a new runner, maybe a tray and some new scented candles. When we moved into our new home, I took my tiny under-the-stairs bathroom and decorated it with a gallery wall and succulents. I am that person that can’t wait for the season to change so I can spruce up my front porch with seasonal goodies.

My friends and family would frequently ask me for help with décor questions, send me pictures asking me, “What am I missing?” and, “Does this look good?” I would go shopping with them, looking for the perfect décor item, and having so much fun! One day, after helping a family member re-arrange her living room, I thought, “I wish this could be my job, it doesn’t even feel like work and I love doing it.”

The name, “Lovely Vision” came to me a few years ago when I started a blog about my daily walk with God.

The word “lovely” stood out to me and has always been one of my favorite words. It simply means exquisitely beautiful. But it’s not just talking about beauty from the outside, it’s also referring to a beauty that is found on the inside. God tells us in His Word to “think about lovely things” and by doing so we are focusing on how He sees the world, through His lens; through His vision. That is how Lovely Vision came to life. It’s this idea that we are seeing the world how God sees it and living in expectation of what He is doing and showing us.
